Guidelines
The Hat publishes poetry, prose, and occasionally pictures.
Reading period: November 1 to January 31. Submissions received outside of the reading period may be returned unread. Simultaneous submissions are discouraged. All responses will be mailed by February 28.
Please send your work in the body of an email to submissions at hatpoetry dot com. We are not accepting print submissions at this time.
When considering what kinds of work to submit, it is advisable to be familiar with the work of some of the poets who have appeared in previous issues. We can make no recommendations as to being familiar with the poets themselves.
